Kashmir: Army guns down 3 infiltrators

The Indian Army on Monday evening killed three infiltrators along the Line of Control at the north Kashmir border district Kupwara.

A defence spokesman said alert troops of the 9 JAK Rifles noticed suspicious movement in the Machil sector of Kupwara.

"The infiltrators were surrounded and challenged, upon which they indiscriminately fired, resulting in a heavy exchange of fire between the troops and the militants. All the three intruders were gunned down and four AK-47 rifles, one pistol and large quantity of ammunition were recovered."

He said in past ten days alone 11 militants were gunned down by the army along the LoC in Kashmir.
