The Bharatiya Janata Party in Karnataka, disgruntled about not being invited to form the government, says that it will parade its MLAs before President Prathiba Patil, if there is no word from Governor Rameshwar Thakur.
Senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj, who is in Karnataka to ensure that the BJP-led government is formed, said that her party has proved its numbers before the governor and there should be problem in being invited to form the government.
The BJP has warned that if it was not invited by the governor, then they would take the matter to the public. The BJP feels that the peoples' mandate was in their favour after they won 79 seats in the 226 member house, thus making them the single largest party.
However this campaign is restricted only to the BJP who have decided to embark on many yatras across the state. However, their ally the Janata Dal-Secular has decided to adopt a wait and watch policy on the issue and former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy said that they would not participate in any rallies.
