The Indian Air Force on Friday lost a Jaguar aircraft when it crashed soon after take off from the Jamnagar airbase in Gujarat.
The pilot of the fighter aircraft, which crashed at 1504 hours, managed to bail out from the plane, an IAF official spokesman said.
This is the eighth crash involving the Indian Air Force aircraft and the second involving a Jaguar. The IAF lost its first Jaguar this year in January at Ambala.
The spokesman said a court of inquiry has been launched to probe the crash.
