Actor Sanjay Dutt spent a quiet night at Yerawada jail in Pune with prison arrangements remaining unchanged for Sanjay Dutt's second time stay where he is likely to continue cane furniture making.

After a two-month-long freedom, Dutt surrendered before the TADA court in Mumbai on Monday after expiry of the interim bail granted by the Supreme Court. The actor was brought to the jail after being handed over a copy of the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts case judgment by the TADA court.

Clad in a blue shirt and jeans, Dutt sported a well-trimmed beard. But this time, the 'Munnabhai' of silver screen was not greeted with cheers from his fans as he alighted from police van in front of the jail gate. There was no crowd of curious onlookers except the presence of mediapersons. It was a quiet, routine affair for jail officials readmitting an inmate who had been out on bail.

The arrangements for Dutt during his previous three-week stay behind bars in the high security cell would remain unchanged, prison sources said.

"Everything will be in strict accordance with the provisions of jail manual applicable to all inmates," they added. Convicted under the Arms Act, Dutt is sentenced to six years rigorous imprisonment. Unless he changes his preference, the actor, who opted for manual work of cane furniture last time when he was here, was expected to continue to hone the newly acquired skill, as he awaits grant of bail from the apex court where his lawyers are to file an appeal against the TADA court order running into over 4000 pages.
