It will be a quiet Eid at Ajmer this year. The government, the management of the Dhargah and also the people feel that the celebrations should be on a smaller scale this year in view of the blasts that took place on Thursday.

Although the celebrations will be a quiet affair, the people visiting the shrine will have to bear with the large police force which has been deployed at the Dhargah. The state government has deployed additional force at the Dhargah in view of the Eid celebrations, scheduled to take place on Sunday.

The police forces which had been deployed to monitor the Gujjar protests in the state too have been called to keep vigil at the Dhargah. The state government has said that once the situation calms down the shrine the security will not clear off from the shrine.

Security will be permanently beefed up at the Shrine, the government has assured.

Home Minister Shivraj Patil, who visited the shrine earlier in the day, said that security will continue to remain tight at the Dhargah all round the year. He assured of all support from the Union government to deal with the problem and also added that the government was doing everything in the book to combat terrorism.

He also said that there had been no let up in the investigations and added that the culprits will be brought to book. Patil did not rule out the role of cross border links in the attack and added that all angles were being probed. The Union home minister also added that investigations had gone as far as the borders. "I am being updated about the investigation and I am also aware of the progress which has been made in the probe. The investigation is going as far as our borders," he added.

Patil, who offered chadar at the Dargah later visited the government hospital where the injured in the blasts were being treated. While speaking to some of the family members, he assured them of all support.
