The Bharatiya Janata Party has prepared eleven television spots to highlight the achievements of the Narendra Modi government in Gujarat during the 25-day campaign period for the state assembly elections. This was disclosed by BJP leader Arun Jaitley, general secretary in-charge of Gujarat.

"We prepared 18 such spots but we have decided to release eleven of them. The spots have been prepared from the speeches given by Modi in the last one-and-a-half-years across the state," he said.

The state BJP has adopted the slogan Jeeto Gujarat, to take on the Congress' catchy Chak De Gujarat.

The television spots will be crucial in the BJP's campaign as the Election Commission has banned the use of posters as they can cause tension and unrest in the communally charged state.

Though Modi will be the star attraction in BJP's campaign, senior leaders like L K Advani will address rallies in constituencies where BJP has lost its traditional stronghold, according to party sources.

Meanwhile, BJP leaders have slammed The Times of India for publishing an 'imaginary' interview with Modi which was promptly refuted by the chief minister's office. The paper later carried a corrigendum admitting that the interview had been compiled on the basis of excerpts of Modi's statements to various channels and newspapers.
