Former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto on Saturday night returned to Pakistan from Dubai, cutting short her four-day stay there, following imposition of emergency in the country.

She left Karachi airport for home after being made to sit in the plane for several hours after flying in from Dubai.

On her arrival in Karachi, she was not allowed to de-board. Some supporters of her Pakistan People Party gathered at the airport to greet her.

Bhutto, who returned on October 18 after eight years of self imposed exile, had left for Dubai on Thursday to meet her family.

The 54-year-old former Premier's family had remained in Dubai when she returned to Pakistan after President Pervez Musharraf issued an ordinance to grant her amnesty in corruption cases.
