The three policemen of Gujarat's Anti-Terrorist Squad arrested in connection with the killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh in a fake encounter are likely to be taken to Hyderabad as they were part of a team that went there to nab him.
The policemen -- Inspector N H Dabhi and Constables Ajay Parmar and Santram Sharma -- were remanded to police custody for seven days till May 15 by the metropolition court on Tuesday.
They were arrested on May 7.
The three are likely to be taken to Hyderabad during their remand, CID sources said on Wednesday.
They were part of the ATS team led by SP Rajkumar Pandian, one of three IPS officers arrested in the case, that went to Hyderabad to track Sheikh and bring him to Gujarat.
The reasons cited in court by the CID for seeking the remand of the three ATS policemen it that it wanted to know where they stayed during their trip and which officers of Andhra Pradesh police they were in contact with.
The CID also said the arrested ATS policemen had allegedly changed the number plate of the Toyota Qualis taken by them from Ahmedabad and police needed to know the reasons for this.
The CID also wants to find out how they came to know about the travel plans of Sheikh, how he was nabbed and brought to Ahmedabad with his wife Kausar Bi.
The three arrested IPS officers, DIG D G Vanzara, Pandian and SP Dineshkumar M N of Rajasthan are now in judicial custody and are being held in the Central Jail at Sabarmati.
