Over 400 armed forces personnel have committed suicide since 2004.
As many as 327 army personnel committed suicide during this period, Defence Minister A K Antony told the Rajya Sabha during Question Hour.
While 64 air force personnel took their own lives, the number of cases in the navy and coast guard was 13, he said.
Antony also elaborated on the various steps being taken to reduce stress level among the armed forces personnel, including having sufficient number of psychiatrists and trained counselors in the forces.
