The teenaged-son of a doctor couple who had performed a caesarean section in March last at a hospital run by his parents, on Thursday moved the Madurai bench of Madras High Court for anticipatory bail, apprehending arrest.

When the bail application came up for hearing, Justice G Rajasuriya posted it for hearing for Friday.

The incident came to light at last month's meeting of Manapparai unit of the Indian Medical Association, where Murugesan, a surgeon, and Gandhimathy, a gynaecologist, are said to have screened the video of their son performing the surgery.

Dr MurugesanĀ is now claiming that he performed the surgery while his son watched.
