Eleven of the convicts in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case have written a letter to Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, offering their as well as Muslim community's 'support' to the saffron party.

It is not clear, however, what has prompted them to write to Thackeray, and what do they expect from him in return.

The letter said that all blasts convicts are ready to 'support' the Shiv Sena, and with the support of the Muslim community, the Opposition party can come to power in the state in the next assembly elections slated for 2009.

"Flag of Sena and Muslims would fly with our support," the letter says.

It also claims that Congress party and its president Sonia Gandhi and Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar 'procured' the release of actor Sanjay Dutt, a convict in the case, but does not criticise anybody.

Letter writers include Farooq Pawle, Abdul Ghani Ismail Turk and Shoaib Ghansar, all convicted for planting the bombs that killed 257 and injured over 700 people. These convicts are awaiting sentencing.
