The police has registered a case against suspended Bharatiya Janata Party legislator Prahalad Gunjal and five others for
violating prohibitory orders in Kota district, officials said on Wednesday.

Gunjal has organised a meeting of his supporters at his residence on Monday, a day after he was suspended from BJP for defying party discipline during recent Gujjar protests, and later blocked roads and used loudspeakers violating prohibitory orders in Dadabari, about 280 km from Jaipur.

A case under various sections of the IPC was registered against Gunjal and five others at Dadabari police station on Tuesday.

Gunjal was among five other MLAs who suspended by the BJP for "spreading caste hatred and threatening Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje of not allowing her entry to Jhalawar constituency in the aftermath of Gurjars' agitation."

Meanwhile, his brother-in-law Om Prakash Gujjar was also arrested on Tuesday in Kota in connection with a three-year-old murder case pending against him.

He was produced in a local court and was remanded to judicial custody.
