Gujjar leader Roop Singh has accused Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje of playing a double game with them by resorting to indiscriminate arrest of the workers who took part in the week long agitation and spreading all sorts of falsehood to malign the Gujjars.

Speaking to rediff.com on phone from Jaipur, the Gujar Sangharsh Samiti spokesman denied that any of the agitationists had beheaded a police man after taking his eyes out by sword.

"Let any independent inquiry establish that the incident took place. There cannot be bigger falsehood spread against the leaders of Sangharsh Samiti and Gujjars in particular. We do not believe in resorting to barbaric acts," he said.

He charged that the police opened fire on peaceful Gujjars and killed them.

"In all the 24 deaths, the bullets hit the Gujjars on their back. This indicated that they were running for their lives and there was no question of someone resorting to violence. While we started the agitation at 1100 hours, the firing took place at 0730 hours in the morning," he claimed.

He regretted that so far no judicial probe has been announced by the chief minister.

"The administration is going back on its promises. While our workers are being arrested and cases are being registered against leaders like Col Bainsla, no case has been made out against the cabinet ministers of the other community who were instigating action against our men. Why these double standards," he asked.

Singh promised full cooperation from his community for next 90 days so that three-member commission could complete its findings.

"As far as the Gujjar Mahpanchyat on June 24 at Pushkar is concerned, it is being done by other colleagues. So I have no idea about it. We want action against erring police officers who were involved in the Golikand and other incidents in which Gujjars were killed," he added.
