Gujjar row: BJP MLAs threaten to quit
June 02, 2007 10:41 IST
Over 17 BJP legislators from the Meena community, including two members of the Rajasthan council of ministers, have threatened to resign if the state government opted to make changes in the list of Scheduled Tribes.

These legislators, including Food and Civil Supplies Minister Kirorilal Meena and Minister of State for Finance Virendra Meena, met
Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje at her official residence in Jaipur on Friday and asked her not to make any inclusion or amendment in the list of Scheduled Tribes.

The BJP legislators also urged the CM to take stern action against the protesting Gujjars who, they said, have been disrupting law and order in the state for the past four days.
