United National Progressive Alliance's stand on the presidential and vice presidential polls would be decided at the front's next meeting at New Delhi soon, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam supremo Jayalalithaa said in Chennai on Monday.

Indian National Lol Dal leader Om Prakash Chautala will host the meeting, she told reporters.

Asked whether the Bharatiya Janata Party had offered the post of vice president to the UNPA if it supported the National Democratic Alliance-backed independent candidate Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, Jayalalithaa replied in the negative.

Asked whether she invited Trinamool Congress to join the UNPA, when its chief Mamata Banerjee called on her recently, she said it was only a friendly meeting and she did not discuss the issue.

"Both of us have been friends for long," she said.

On her meeting with Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh, she said they discussed presidential and vice presidential polls.

In a significant remark to break the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam-led Democratic Progressive alliance in Tamil Nadu, Jayalalithaa said her party would welcome Pattali Makkal Katchi founder Dr S Ramadoss in its alliance "affectionately."

He would be given due respect, she said.

The DMK and PMK are indulging in a war of words on several issues over the past fortnight.

She refused to answer questions on whether Ramadoss had sent any feelers.
