A day before his government faces a trial of strength on the floor of the Assembly, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav on Wednesday claimed absolute majority and said there was no threat to his regime.

"We enjoy absolute majority in the Vidhan Sabha, which we will prove on Thursday," Yadav told reporters after the Samajwadi Party legislative party meeting at the Vidhan Bhawan.

On Thursday, the state government will face a trial of strength in the assembly when the House votes on the motion of thanks to Governor T V Rajeshwar's speech.

On asked whether the meeting was called to discuss the party's strategy for Thursday, Yadav said, "The SP never forms any strategy. Ask for a strategy from those parties which have ganged up against our government in the state."

"Hume apna Samajwadi Party pariwar dikh raha hai aur yahi hamari ranniti hai (I can see my Samajawadi Party and that is my strategy)," he said.

He added that, during the meeting, party policies and organisational issues were discussed with party MLAs.

"During our three-year regime whatever work we have done has been noticed by the public," he said, highlighting his government's achievements.
