A thick blanket of fog engulfed Delhi on Wednesday morning, but air traffic remained unaffected even as Delhiites shivered under intense cold wave conditions.

Though the fog reduced the runway visibility range to around 900 mt, the air traffic at the Indira Gandhi International Airport remained unaffected and all flights operated on schedule.

Met Office said the fog reduced the normal visibility to 400 mt in the morning.

Wednesday's minimum temperature was recorded at 3.8 degree Celsius, three notches below normal. The mercury had on Tuesday plummeted to 3.2 degree Celsius.

However, Delhi which shivered at 2.6 degree Celsius two days ago, lowest of the season so far, will witness warmer days ahead.

The Met office forecast said the minimum temperature will hover around 5 degrees Celsius in the next two days with a partly cloudy sky.

There will be shallow fog or mist in the mornings, the Met Office added.
