"It is high time Home Minister Patil should come out with an authentic statement on the incident and inform the people what action taken by it" Nitish Kumar said while addressing a press meet in Patna on Tuesday after return of a five member team of state government that visited Assam following killing of Bihari migrant labourers.
Nitish Kumar said that Central government should immediately intervene in Assam and take it seriously." Killings of Bihari migrant labourers in Assam is a big challenge for the country and constitutional rights of people." Nitish said.
He also demanded adequate deployment of central forces in Assam to instill a sense of security among migrant labourers.
When asked whether he will visit Assam, Nitish Kumar said that there was no plan because a government team has already visited and submit its report to him.
However, when it was said that Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav visited Assam's districts where the killings took place, Nitish said that it was surprising that instead of home minister Patil he visited Assam.
Bihar Road Construction Minister Nand KIshore Yadav, who was one of the three ministers who led the state government team to Assam, said that the team has demanded deployment of more central security force in Assam for safety and security.
