J&K: 5 booked for fake surrender

Close on the heels of fake encounters in Jammu and Kashmir, police have uncovered a fake surrender group and arrested five persons in Poonch district, official sources said.

Police during investigation found that five persons who had surrendered before the Army in Surankote belt of Poonch last week were fake militants, they told PTI.

The five arrested persons have been identified as Zakir Hussain, Mohammad Azim, Sajjad Mohammad, Ayub Shah and Mushtaq Ahmed.

Impersonating as Hizbul Mujahideen militants, Nissar Hussain, who is currently in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, Zakir Hussain of Rajouri and four others surrendered before the Army. Police later found that Zakir was a fake militant who along with his accomplished adopted names of some militants currently in PoK.
