Injured leave for Pakistan

Navtej Sarna, spokesman for the external affairs ministry, said that all the 10 injured Pakistanis have left Safdarjung Hospital after they were declared fit by the doctors attending on them.

While seven of them would be travelling to Pakistan in special airforce plane, three namely family of Rana Shaukat Ali who lost five children in the Samjhauta train blast will go to Panipat to identify the dead dear ones.

"The seven injured who would be travelling to Pakistan include Abdul Qayyum,Shamim, Ramesh Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Nadim and two others are already on their way to board CI-30 special Airforce plane which has medical facilities," he said.

According to him 33 dead have been identified so far out of which 27 are Pak nationals and out of them 21 have been identified. The relatives are still coming in and the governments of Punjab and Haryana are facilitating their stay and other arrangements. Our visa camps are working.

The authorities are in the process of contacting relatives of the remaining passengers to know if anyone is missing," Sarna said.

"The incident underscores the need for action against terrorist groups wherever they exist. We hope the government of Pakistan would assist us in investigations," he added.

Asked why Usman, one of the passengers, who was arrested after he kicked one of the live bombs and threw it on the train was allowed to go back, Sarna said this question does not come under his jurisdiction.
