India sets up visa camp in Lahore

India on Monday set up a temporary visa camp in Lahore to facilitate immediate travel by Pakistani officials and relatives of those killed or injured in the explosions that rocked the Delhi-Attari special express.

Official sources in New Delhi informed that the government has made all arrangements to issue visas to the relatives of the victims, who have been asked to contact Grand Hotel in Lahore at phone numbers -- 042-6360014 and 03455514576 (mobile) -- in this regard.

The Indian High Commission has asked the relatives of the victims to approach the mission for enquiries with regard to visas at phone numbers: 051-2828378, 051-2828377, 051-2206950-4 and 0300-8508329 (mobile).

The high commission said it will coordinate arrangements to enable expeditious travel to India via Wagah-Attari border.

Meanwhile, officials said the Pakistan government was deeply concerned over the incident and had sought a report from its high commission in New Delhi.

The news of the explosion in the train was received with deep concern is Pakistan as it took place a day before Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid M Kasuri travels to New Delhi for a three-day visit to hold talks with his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee.

Kasuri will be in New Delhi to attend the Indo-Pak Joint Commission meeting as well as to hold talks with the Indian leadership on taking the peace process between the two countries forward.
