Jaipal Reddy, Union Minister for Culture and Urban Development, has signed the much awaited Delhi's Master Plan 2021 and a copy of the document would be sent to the Supreme Court shortly.
Reddy disclosed this during his interaction with the scribes during the 37th two-day meet of the Editor's Conference on Social Sector issue being held in New Delhi.
"I have just signed the document and it would now be translated and other small technical details would be taken care off and shortly we are going to make the plan public. A copy of the master plan is being sent to the honourable Supreme Court of India," he said.
The minister clarified that there would be no sealing in Delhi as the Union government has taken care of all the objections raised during the hearings in the Supreme Court.
He also announced the Union government's decision to set up a regulatory authority
to control the private builders. "Since it is a state subject it is for the state governments to decide what kind of regulatory authority do they want to have in the field," he said when a journalist asked if the central regulatory authority would also deal with the states.
