Musharraf calls for peace; announces 3-day mournin

Hours after former Pakistan premier Benazir Bhutto was assassinated in Rawalpindi, President Pervez Musharraf appealed to the nation to maintain peace so as to defeat the nefarious designs of terrorists.

Condemning the assassination, Musharraf announced three-day
mourning in the country.

Hundreds of Bhutto's supporters took to the streets soon after news of Bhutto's death broke and chanted slogans against Musharraf and the military administration.
