The Calcutta High Court on Monday granted the Central Bureau of Investigation two more months to complete the probe into the March 14 police firing in Nandigram in which 14 people were killed and several others injured.
Justice Soumitra Pal extended the time to file the report by two more months on a petition filed by the CBI seeking more time to complete the investigation.
Calcutta High Court Bar Association spokesman Kalyan Banerjee said, ''The CBI had prayed for four months' time to complete the investigation but the court granted two months' time and asked the investigating agency to file the report within February 15.''

In its petition, the CBI prayed to the court for four months' time to complete the investigation. The court rejected the plea and granted the CBI time till February 15 to complete the investigation.
