With just hours to go for the first phase of assembly polls in Gujarat, advertisements featuring photograph of rebel BJP leader Keshubhai Patel has appeared in eveningers of Saurashtra, appealing people to vote out the current Narendra Modi led-government from power.
The ads published by Sardar Patel Utkarsh Samiti carried remarks by the veteran leader during his recent campaign against Modi at different places.
The appearance of the advertisements assumes significance as the assembly constituencies of Saurashtra goes to polls in the first phase tomorrow alongwith the constituencies of Kutch and south Gujarat.
Similar advertisements against Modi have appeared earlier also in newspapers here in the run-up to the assembly polls.
The advertisements that appeared on Monday reminds people of Keshubhai's statements that he made about Modi at places like Dhoraji, Surat and Rajkot.
Keshubhai criticised Gujarat Chief Minister openly after elections were announced in the state. He had also decided not to campaign for the BJP in this year's elections despite attempts by the party leadership 'to convince him.'
Patel has been in Saurasthra region since the last four days and have held several meetings with his supporters, sources close to the leader said. The veteran holds a tight grip over the Patel votes in the region.
