The body of a Bahujan Samajwadi Party legislator was recovered from the railway tracks near Razaganj in Uttar Pradesh's Lakhmipur-Kheri district on Saturday morning.
The body of Rajesh Gautam, bearing bullet wounds, was found dumped near the railway tracks, police said.
The motive behind the killing was yet to be ascertained, they said, adding that senior officials have reached the spot.
