After the request of the Bharatiya Janata Party high command, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will campaign in Uttar Pradesh assembly elections for the BJP, Janata Dal (United) and its ally Apna Dal candidates.
The state JD(U) president Lallan Singh told
rediff.com in Patna on Friday that Nitish Kumar will campaign on April 25 and 26 in UP assembly elections. "Nitish Kumar will mainly cover the assembly constituencies in eastern UP," Singh said.
According to sources close to Nitish Kumar, BJP had requested him
to campaign in support of the party candidates in districts bordering Bihar. "Nitish Kumar's popularity in eastern UP will fetch votes for BJP," sources said.
