Bharatiya Janata Party's central leadership has disowned the controversial CD released by senior party leader Lalji Tandon for use in the Uttar Pradesh  Assembly elections. The issue was raked up CNN-IBN which said that it was not telecasting the provocative comments made against a particular community in the  state as it would lead to rioting.

Address a press conference Rajiv Pratap Rudi, minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee  government and national spokesman, said that they party would find out as to why  was the CD released without the approval of the central leadership and the campaign committee.

Meanwhile the BJP state unit official Manoj Misra, in charge of handling the media, has been removed from his post. The CD was made by one Alpana Talwar, who claimed that she had got the approval of the central leadership before releasing it  to the media.

Lallji Tandon claimed that he did not know the contents of the CD while releasing it as a press conference in Lucknow. This is the second time stalwart of the UP politics has run into trouble. Last time over 40 women died in a stampede while trying to get free sarees meant for distribution on Tandon's birthday.

"We have withdrawn the alleged CD which allegedly made remarks against certain community. The CD was not approved either by the central campaign committee or central leadership. Tandonji did not know the contents of the CD when he released it," Rudi said.

Interestingly the party still sent the alleged CD not approved by its campaign committee for clearance by the state election officer for approval.
