With President A P J Abdul Kalam's term in Rashtrapati Bhavan due to expire in a few months, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday said that he should be given another term.

Nitish said Kalam should be given another term in view of his clean and non-controversial image.

On the Supreme Court verdict staying 27 per cent reservation of seats for OBCs in higher educational institutions, he said the apex court's ruling might inculcate a feeling among the OBCs that they were denied the benefits of reservation "deliberately."

Nitish said an all-party meeting on the quota issue could come out with a solution.

The apex court order, he said, had "disappointed" the backward classes and "immediate steps are required to resolve the matter".

Nitish's Janata Dal-United has asked the government not to implement the Supreme Court's order on OBC quota in educational institutions.
