As part of the massive shake-up in the Ministry of External Affairs following the appointment of Shiv Shankar Menon as foreign secretary-designate, India will have a new ambassador to China soon.

India's Ambassador to China Nalin Surie is expected to return to Delhi next month after completing his three-year stint.

Though no official announcement has been made regarding Suri's successor, it is reported that the Indian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka Nirupama Rao is likely to be the next ambassador in Beijing.
