Thirty-three year-old Siva Supramaniam was knifed in the heart on Thursday night and bled to death as his wife Shanta cradled him.
He had come back to his store from a local takeaway to find a man and woman rowing with his wife. Supramaniam stepped in and asked the pair to leave his shop in Harrow Road, Wembley, police said Monday night.
But when he followed them into nearby Tring Avenue, he was repeatedly stabbed in the chest and stomach and battered around the head with a blunt weapon. Supramaniam staggered back to his shop before collapsing in the doorway bleeding heavily.
His last words to his 27-year-old wife were, "Honey, call the police, I can't breathe."
According to doctors, Siva had lost too much blood and his heart was too badly damaged.
Supramaniam had trained in Malaysia as a lawyer but decided to try his luck in the UK in 1999 to start his own business.
