The Dubai Court of Appeal sentenced the 32-year-old Indian, T A, to seven years in jail for attempting to kill his 29-year-old wife, R K by stabbing her in public.
He was given an additional month in jail for consuming liquor. Dubai Court of first instance had earlier sentenced the expatriate to three years in jail after he was found guilty of attempted murder.
In her court statement, the wife had said her alcoholic husband attacked her while she was leaving her parents' house on her way to work.
