It was a Gandhigiri style protest by resident doctors of AIIMS that Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss faced during his visit to the institute to meet dengue patients here today.

Doctors of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences on Wednesday protested against Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss for not visiting the ailing doctors in time.

A high number of dengue cases were reported from on the campus.

The protesting doctors displayed placards that read "Ramadoss Get Well Soon" and held bouquets of red roses.

The peaceful protests were inspired by the super hit Hindi movie, Lage Raho Munnabhai.

The doctors said even Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had visited the hospital before the health minister to meet patients affected by dengue, which has assumed serious proportions in the city.

"Our protest is based on the principles of Gandhiji. We want the health minister, who is behaving strangely now a days, to get well soon," said a member of AIIMS Resident Doctors' Association.

Ramadoss reviewed medical facilities at the premier hospital where nearly 179 dengue patients are admitted.
