Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's two grandsons and a son-in-law, admitted to AIIMS with symptoms of dengue, are recovering and are likely to be discharged Friday.

"The three are stable and recovering and are likely to be discharged Friday," AIIMS spokesman Shakti Gupta told reporters.

Singh's grandsons Rohan (11) and Madhav (17) and son-in-law Vijay Tankha were admitted to AIIMS on Wednesday with symptoms of dengue-like high fever, body ache and vomiting.

A senior doctor told PTI that preliminary tests on the trio turned out to be positive and they were immediately put on medication. "They are responding to the treatment quite well," the doctor said. At the daily briefing on dengue situation, Gupta said "doctors are awaiting serological test reports and will review their condition."

"Blood tests were being carried out on the three every six hours to check blood platelet count. Prime Minister's wife Gursharan Kaur visited AIIMS late Thursday evening and spent nearly an hour with her grandsons and son-in-law.
