Adobe India CEO's kid in Chambal dacoit's clutches

Police are exercising caution and additional force has been deployed in the Chambal ravines following reports that Adobe India CEO Naresh Gupta's abducted son Anant had reached the clutches of dreaded dacoit Jagjivan Parihar.  

Bastar Range Inspector General of Police D C Sagar said Noida and Etawah police were being contacted to ascertain on what basis the suspicion was expressed. Three-year-old Anant was on way to his school with his maid when two persons arrived on a motorcycle and abducted him from outside his residence in posh Sector 15 A of Noida, a satellite township of New Delhi. 

The abductors have allegedly handed over Anant to Parihar, who carries a reward of Rs 5.15 lakh on his head. A ransom of Rs 1 crore

has been demanded for his release.  

"On receiving information on these lines, more than a dozen police teams were immediately deployed in the Chambal ravines. Besides, search operations were being carried out at suspected places in the ravines," Superintendent of Police Rajababu Singh said.       

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav has expressed confidence that the child will be rescued soon.

"I have spoken to police officers handling the matter and they have assured that the child will be traced soon," Yadav told reporters in Lucknow.

No breakthrough has been made in the case so far even as senior police officials had been camping in the industrial town to trace the child. Six Special Operation Group team had been formed to trace the boy, a police official said.
