The other nominated members vying for the award are Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka and New Delhi.

The award called CSI/Nihilent e-governance is given every year in two categories -- project and

While individual projects are selected for awards on various criteria, the states that make significant progress in the e-governance area are awarded best e-governed state award.

The final selection would be made by a jury on November 4 in New Delhi at the department of management studies at IIT. They will make a presentation before the jury.

Jharkhand is the first state in the country to have completed its statewide area network, called Jharnet.
