Bharatiya Janashakti Party president Uma Bharti on Wednesday demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the attempt to murder case filed against her.

She also asked top Bharatiya Janata Party leaders Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Lal Kishenchand Advani to intervene.

"The manner in which an attempt to murder case was filed against me and others was nothing but a mockery of democracy. A CBI probe should be conducted into the entire episode," Bharti said.

Bharti also said she had no plans to surrender and threatened to launch a vigorous campaign against the 'terror perpetrated by criminal elements and to save the people of the state'.

Thanking Congress leaders Digvijay Singh and Jamuna Devi for their support, Bharti said, "If the Congress extends cooperation to us, we will also co-operate."

However, she made it clear that there would be no cooperation in the political arena.

Blaming Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for the alleged attack on her convoy at Shahrora village during the Bada Malhara assembly by-elections on October 30, she alleged, "Principles, values and morality have been discarded by the ruling BJP.

"BJP stalwarts like Vajpayee and Advani must intervene and save the people of the state from the clutches of Chouhan," she said.
