Two persons were killed and 18 were injured on Saturday morning in Doda, Jammu region, in a powerful hand-grenade explosion carried out by militants.
Police said militants hurled a powerful hand-grenade near the bus stand in Doda town, when a large number of commuters were waiting there.
"Two persons died on the spot and 18 others are injured," Dr S P Vaid, inspector general of police, Jammu zone, told rediff.com.
The injured are being flown to Jammu for treatment. Six of them are in a critical condition.
A large number of security forces and police have surrounded the explosion site, as senior district officials supervised the evacuation of the injured.
