Chairman of the hardline faction of the Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, was taken into preventive custody in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, official sources said.
Geelani and four of his associates were taken into custody by the police at Mirgund as he was heading towards Baramulla to address Friday prayers and a public meeting, the sources said.
