Former Shiv Sena leader-turned Congressman Narayan Rane on Sunday charged Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray with keeping his father and Sena chief Bal Thackeray under house arrest.
"Uddhav has kept Balasaheb under house arrest, as can be seen from the latter's absence at all party functions these days," said Rane, who was expelled from the Sena last year and is now a minister in the state government.
Rane's comments came while touring Aurangabad in the Marathwada region. He said former Sena leader Raj Thackeray's attempts to float a new party will have no impact on Sena workers joining Congress.
"Several Sena members of legislative assembly and parliamentarians from Marathwada are in touch with me and they will take a decision soon," he said.
