The forthcoming visit of United States President George Bush is keeping everyone on their toes. While the administration is busy making arrangements for the visit to go off smoothly, Muslim parties in the city are busy working out plans to oppose his visit.

The Left parties, too, are finalising their action plan to register their opposition to the policies of the US President.

Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy proposes to introduce his cabinet colleagues to Bush; if everything goes well, all of them would be attired in traditional Andhra dress - dhoti and kurta and perhaps an angavastram (a sort of scarf).

Women who are part of self-help groups that are scheduled to meet Bush have also been instructed to be dressed in handloom sarees.

Meanwhile, Left parties have decided to meet at the Press Club, where revolutionary writers and ballad singers like Gaddar and Ghazal Srinivas will sing songs opposing Bush's visit. The songs by Gaddar will be a parody on Bush.

The Islamic student wing has already put up an exhibition of a collage of over 350 cartoons and images, describing how authoritarian Bush is and how he wants to establish his supremacy over the world.

On the other hand, as choppers carrying Bush and First Lady Laura Bush will hover over the skies of Hyderabad, the Majlis Bachao Tehreek will fly thousands of black kites and float balloons as a novel way of protest.
