India should consider serious proposals on Kashmir by Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf unless they relate to plebiscite, independence or merger with Pakistan, Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister M H Baig said on Friday.

Baig said Musharraf needed to be strengthened as there are elements in Pakistan who do not want assurances given by the Pakistani ruler to be implemented, particularly on ending transborder terrorism.

He said some elements in Pakistan do not want Indo-Pak friendship and even Musharraf was targeted thrice.

Baig particularly said Pakistani army was indoctrinated and wanted to continue with the pan-Islamic, jihadi and anti-India agenda.

He said despite continued cross border terrorism, India had taken bold decisions in good faith to launch bus services across the Line of Control to encourage people to people contact.

Referring to the recent terror attacks on tourists and Amarnath pilgrims in Kashmir, he said these are aimed at creating anti-Muslim and anti-Kashmiri sentiments elsewhere in the country.

He said terrorists, in view of increased tourist inflow, want to create an impression that the situation in the Valley is not normal.
