Twelve suspects have been picked up for interrogation in connection with the three grenade blasts triggered by militants at a bus stand in Jammu in which one person was killed and 31 injured.

"We have detained 12 persons suspected to be behind the blasts for questioning in connection with the three grenade attacks on Monday morning. They are being questioned and we are hopeful to get some leads," police said.

They said police were on the job to pick up more suspects connected with the hurling of grenades at the general bus stand.

"We are investigating the attack by militants. Three grenades were hurled on the buses, one of them carrying Vaishnodevi pilgrims," Senior Superintendent of Police Mukesh Singh said.

Singh, who was monitoring the situation after the grenade strikes, said, "The grenade pins and other evidence are being analysed to determine whether the grenades were thrown from the bus stand area or from the road above it."

No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the attacks, but there was a possibility of Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Tayiba militants being involved, police officials said.

They said they had recieved intelligence inputs that militants wanted to disrupt the Amarnath yatra.
