A fast track court, on Thursday, sentenced Babloo, the main accused in the rape of a Japanese tourist, to seven years' rigorous imprisonment and his mother and brother to that of three years.

Sanjay, Babloo's other brother, and his friend Raju Sahi, were among the five accused in the case registered under sections 376, 420 and 120-B of Indian Penal Code. They were, however, acquitted by Additional District Judge Mahaveer Prasad Sharma.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on Babloo and of Rs 2,000 each on his mother Roshni and brother Raju.

Son of a hotel owner, Babloo had raped and looted the Japanese tourist after giving her an intoxicating drink at Pushkar on April 2.

The woman had faxed her complaint to the Superintendent of Police, Ajmer from Agra on April 18, which said she was raped by the 22-year-old youth and also robbed of Rs 54,000 by him.

The Japanese embassy had later rushed to Agra to record her statement.
