Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf on Tuesday said "stalling" of the Indo-Pak peace process in reaction to terror attacks is "tantamount" to playing into the hands of terrorists.

"Any stalling of the peace process will be unfortunate and doing so because of terrorist attacks would be tantamount to playing into the hands of terrorists," Musharraf told a National Security Council meeting in Islamabad, reacting to postponement of foreign secretary-level talks in the wake of serial blasts in Mumbai and a grenade attack in Srinagar.

"We must not allow such terrorist acts to undermine the historic opportunity for lasting peace between Pakistan and India," state-run PTV quoted him as saying.

The channel said Musharraf gave an overview of the regional security situation in his address to the NSC meeting, which was attended by the top brass of Pakistan military, besides chief ministers and governors of the four provinces.
