Tight security for PM's Mumbai visit

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be visiting Mumbai on Friday afternoon, amidst tight security.

Teams from the Special Protection Group and Intelligence Bureau were in Mumbai two days ago to plan out security arrangements for the prime minister.

Dr Singh is scheduled to reach Mumbai around 12.30 pm and will head straight for the two hospitals, where the injured of the July 11 train bomb blast are undergoing treatment.

He will then be briefed by Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilas Rao Deshmukh and state director general of police about the developments in the last three days

Dr Singh will address a press conference around 3 pm, before returning to Delhi.
