The Left parties are expected to convey to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at their coordination committee with United Progressive Alliance in New Delhi on Thursday that they would stick to their decision to boycott US President George W Bush's visit.

If the issue is raised, the Left parties would make their stand clear, sources said Wednesday night.

They said the Left parties would point out that the boycott would be consistent with the strong protests they had staged against Indo-US air exercise in Kalaikunda, West Bengal, last year.

Meanwhile, the prime minister's media adviser Sanjaya Baru described as "incorrect" reports that Manmohan Singh has appealed to Left parties not to boycott Bush's visit to India.

"No such appeal has gone out," he added.
