Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal on Monday dared the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership to lodge a first information report regarding the alleged tapping of telephones of top party leaders, including Lal Kishenchand Advani, following the Volcker controversy.

"We can take action only if an FIR is lodged and not on the basis of the allegations leveled in the media," Jaiswal said.

An FIR can be lodged in any state where the leaders having grievance were located or even they can inform the Centre about it, he said.

On Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh moving the Supreme Court, he said, "Let him go anywhere. After all, a citizen has a right to move the highest court of the country, but we can take action only if an FIR was lodged."
