The Janata Party will discuss with Bharatiya Janata Party leaders an electoral alliance for the assembly polls in Tamil Nadu, its president Subramanian Swamy said Tuesday.

His party would evolve a "Hindu agenda" and present it before other parties for the polls, he told reporters in Chennai. He said the ruling AIADMK and its prime opposition Dravida Munetra Kazhagam were "anti Hindus" and the Hindu religion was under threat from these parties.

"I, though a secular man, have undertaken a Hindu agenda only to save the religion from the onslaught of these parties," he said.

He welcomed the Karnataka Chief Minister, H D Kumaraswamy's, announcement that his government would set up special courts "to try pro-LTTE Tamil separatists, imprisoned in Karnataka jails."
