After kicking off a row with his controversial remarks about territorial claim over Arunachal Pradesh, Beijing's envoy to India Sun Yaxi has claimed that 'some area' of the northeastern state was being negotiated between the two countries.
Talking to the media persons in Chandigarh on Sunday, he said some area in Arunachal Pradesh was being 'negotiated' between the two countries.
Claiming that the border area between India and China was 'not demarcated,' Sun said that the only a mutually acceptable solution was the sole solution to resolve border dispute between the two neighbours.
"All border issues must be resolved through friendly consultations and mutually acceptable solution," he said, adding border issues should not come in the way further strengthening bilateral ties.
Pointing out that eight rounds of talks had already taken place between India and China on the border issue, the envoy said: "Five rounds of confabulations have produced good guiding principles to settle the border issue."
He stressed on confidence-building measures between the two countries to resolve border issue amicably. Sun also stressed the need for allowing of more commodities to be traded through Nathula pass in Sikkim.
Pointing out that over 100 commodities were now being traded between India and China, he said China was ready for having trade with India in textile, chemicals and pharmaceuticals fields.'We have forgotten the past. China has not'
